For Love of the Irish

Normally March 17 can come and go without much thought. Not being Irish, I have never been one to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.  But for my friends who are Irish?  Well, enough said!

This year, however, my friends Jim and Jan Schmitt are in my thoughts and heart.  Years ago Love asked if they would go, love and serve the people of Limerick, Ireland.  They answered yes and since 1999 they been doing just that.

Today I find myself thinking about all those I know who have chosen to live, serve and work in other cultures and counties.  What appears to be an exciting and adventurous life can often be lonely and difficult.

So this St. Paddy’s Day I will drink Barry’s Tea in my Dublin coffee mug and pray for all who choose to live far and away from home.

May Love blow afresh in your hearts today and stir your zeal and faithfulness to greater heights.  In return, may those you love and do life with be touched and stirred as well.  You are not alone.  You are not forgotten.  You are where you need to be for such a time as this.  You are an inspiration.  Carry on faithful one.  Carry on!

Unhindered…live the masterpiece!
